University of Chicago, Gordon Center for Integrative Science - 3rd floor atrium, 929 E 57th St. Science in Art: The Drawings of Vesna Jovanovic. The drawings on exhibit were made by using pareidolia (the psychological phenomenon of conjured recognition) to manipulate random patterns in spilled ink. Also included are drawings created by digitally combining scanned X-Rays, MRI scans, and other medical films, which were printed, then altered via ink and graphite. The exhibit will take place in a venue that is usually devoted exclusively to science. This is one in an ongoing series of exhibits titled "Science in Art", organized by graduate students at the University of Chicago in order to bridge the cultural gap between the two fields.
