So, it's finally getting warm again. When I first moved here I couldn't understand why people raved about the summer in Chicago. To me it just felt (and still feels) like the inside of a dog's mouth. But after a winter here, I'll rave for the dog mouth weather along with the rest of the choir. Now, the best thing about this development for all us crawlers is that we no longer have to pack around our abominable snow man coats through the galleries. No more sweaty arms or almost knocking over sculptures. Hooray! To celebrate this development, it is time for adventures. There are many to be had this weekend. If you're going out on Friday night, drop by Barbara&Barbara Gallery up in Humboldt park. As for the rest of the weekend, I'm plugging Version09 (and by extension myself). Version started today, and goes through the next week. Saturday and Sunday, ya'll should come down to the Benton House 'n see the NFO XPO, the Free University, the Shelter Corps, and That's What She Said, a show Jeriah curated. If you don't want to go to Bridgeport this weekend (lame!) you can at least for on some gallery tours on Saturday, through River North and the West Loop. As for Sunday, The Renaissance Society in Hyde Park is rocking, that's where I'd go, eh! Mmmm...Strange Brew. Well, see ya'll out there.
